After completing his studies at Rhodes University, Kirby kickstarted his career in 2006 at Strika Entertainment as International Promotion Manager. He moved on and joined The Jupiter Drawing Room Advertising Agency in 2007 as Account Director, where he worked on the Sanlam account and pitched on new business. He took some time off to complete his Master’s Degree in Business Administration at the UCT Graduate School of Business (Cape Town) and then the Kellogg School of Management (Chicago), before joining the marketing team at Sanlam, South Africa’s second largest Financial Services firm, in 2011. In 2013, Kirby joined the Kalahari.com team as Head of Brand, where he managed all their above the line marketing, and executed their brand strategy. He joined Safair in 2015 as Vice President: Marketing, which later evolved into VP: Sales & distribution. In this role he looked after the full client acquisition strategy for FlySafair, as well as for all public relations and corporate communications. He is currently the Chief Marketing Officer for Safair.
