Edmund Makona is currently the CEO of Air Zimbabwe and SAATM Ambassador for the Southern region, reporting to the SG of AFCAC. He is an aeronautical engineer with an aviation career spanning over forty years in various aviation fields, ranging from Presidency of AFRAA, Executive Committee Membership of AFRAA, former Vice Chairman of Air Zimbabwe Board of Directors, Independent aviation consulting for IATA and AFRAA, IOSA safety expert, speaker at various international aviation fora, and facilitator for pilots and aircraft engineers. His passion for African aviation pivots on the understanding that African aviation is poised to come of age!
