Dr Bao Mosinyi is the General Manager of Air Botswana, bringing over two decades of international experience across the aviation value chain, including regulatory oversight, airline operations, aircraft manufacturing, and engine manufacturing.

Prior to joining Air Botswana, he served as Chief Executive Officer of the Civil Aviation Authority of Botswana, where he led a significant organisational turnaround; strengthening safety oversight, improving compliance, and significantly increasing revenue.

Dr Mosinyi’s global aviation experience includes senior roles at Airbus, Pratt & Whitney, and the FAA, where he led engineering, commercial, and customer support functions, managed multimillion-dollar programmes, and supported airline operations and airworthiness at scale.

With a PhD in Aerospace Engineering and an MBA from Duke University, Dr. Mosinyi brings deep expertise in aviation strategy, safety, and large-scale operational leadership.

At Air Botswana, he is focused on operational stabilisation, network optimisation, and strengthening regional connectivity, with a clear emphasis on rebuilding reliability, enhancing customer confidence, and positioning the airline as a key enabler of Botswana’s tourism and economic growth
